Williams Depot
Williams Depot is a privately owned train station in Williams, Arizona, United States. It serves as the Grand Canyon Railway depot in Williams, Arizona. It is located adjacent to the BNSF line from Phoenix. At Williams Junction, about three miles (5 km) east of Williams, the BNSF Phoenix line joins the mainline; at Williams Junction, Amtrak stops its daily Southwest Chief train.
In 1908, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway built the depot and the adjoining Fred Harvey hotel, the Fray Marcos. A previous depot was built 1885 by the A&P Railroad; that depot was last used in 1904, and now serves as the Chamber of Commerce. The current depot was taken over for private rehabilitation in 1989.[1]
