Wrenn Schmidt is an American actress. She is most known for her roles in the television series Boardwalk Empire as Julia Sagorsky (2012–2013) and had a small recurring role on The Americans as Kate (2014), and on series 4 of Person of Interest as Dr Iris Campbell. She most recently starred in the 2016 indie film The Good Catholic, and she also starred in the 2014 horror film Preservation.
Early life
Schmidt was born in Lexington, South Carolina and graduated from the Southern Methodist University in 2005.[1]
Career
In 2006, Schmidt first started off on television series such as Law & Order, 3 lbs., and Mercy. Her film work includes appearing in Our Idiot Brother (2011) and Preservation (2014). In 2012, she was cast as Julia Sagorsky in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire.[2] She then went on to play Russian spy Kate in the 2014 television series The Americans for six episodes and as Jenna Olson in the series Tyrant.[3][4]
In 2013, she played the title character in the play Katie Roche and as Hilde Wangel in The Master Builder at the Harvey Theater.[1]
In October 2014, it was announced that Schmidt would play Bobbie Jett in the upcoming biopic film I Saw the Light about Hank Williams. Jett had a short-lived relationship with Williams and gave birth to their daughter, Jett Williams.[5]
