Xi Telescopii (ξ Tel, ξ Telescopii) is a star in the constellation Telescopium.[1] A red giant of spectral type M2III,[3] it is classified as an irregular variable star and its brightness varies from magnitude +4.89 to +4.94.[2] Located around 1079 light-years distant, it shines with a luminosity approximately 2973 times that of the Sun and has a surface temperature of 4030 K.[4] It has a mass around 5.6 times that of the Sun.[3]
