Dr. Rashmi Shetty is an Indian board certified dermatologist, teacher, author, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in aesthetic and clinical dermatology. She is known for her transformative yet subtle results with facial enhancement procedures and is a pioneer in bringing injectables and laser technologies to India.

Early life

Dr. Rashmi Shetty was born as the first of three sisters to Mr. Sitaram Rai - an advertising pioneer, and Mrs. Arundhati Rai - an artist and homemaker. Her exposure to the world of art and aesthetics started at an early age, and led her to pursue multiple passions, primarily - Indian classical dance. She even cleared the board graduation in Indian classical dance as well as art and painting with a first class ranking. As an all rounder, she was involved in elocution and debates on behalf of her school, which cultivated her skills in public speaking.

Dr. Shetty's medical journey began at the prestigious Mysore University. At a time when aesthetic dermatology wasn't an established field, her interest was sparked in plastic surgery and aesthetic surgery while she was doing a post under the prominent pioneer of plastic surgery in India - Dr. K. S. Shekhar. It was during this chapter of her life that she learnt the importance of aesthetics as an aspect beyond vanity. Career

Dr. Rashmi Shetty is an Indian board certified dermatologist, teacher, author, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in aesthetic and clinical dermatology. After graduating with her basic medical degree from AIMS Bellur of Mysore University, she was posted in the plastic surgery department of Bangalore Hospital. Her learnings continued at Chester in the UK where she did her fellowship in aesthetics, followed by her board certification in dermatology in Mumbai. She is known for her transformative yet subtle results with facial enhancement procedures and is a pioneer in bringing injectables and laser technologies to India. Dr. Shetty is the founder and chief dermatologist at Ra Aesthetics and Dermatology in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Her entrepreneurial spirit led to the founding of Solskin - a beauty supplement company that promotes well being from within. In addition to her practice, she is also an international trainer for facial injectables like botox and fillers with industry leaders like Allergan, Merz and Galderma. She has trained doctors across the world and has been an integral part of the advisory board of Unilever for Pond’s, Vaseline, and Lakme, Procter & Gamble for Gillette, Clinique for Estée Lauder, Marico for Parachute’s haircare range, and Bio-Oil.

Dr. Rashmi Shetty is the author of the best selling book “Age Erase” published by Random Book House. She has also authored several textbook chapters in dermatology and plastic surgery in India and internationally. One such publication in the PRS Journal was awarded the Best South East Asian Paper by the American Plastic Surgery Association. She is the first Indian doctor on the International Advisory board of the Anti-Ageing World Congress, FACE London, and ICAD Asia. Dr. Shetty is also a regularly invited speaker and faculty at eminent academic society meetings including ASDS , Thai Derm Society, Australian Society of Cosmetic Dermatology, Egyptian Society of Plastic Surgery, CDSI, ISDS, and IADVL. Her several achievements and contributions to the industry even won her the Vogue Beauty Award in the year 2020.

• Shetty has multiple papers in peer reviewed Indian and International journals. One such paper, published in the PRS Journal, was awarded the Best South East Asian Paper by the American Plastic Surgery Association.
• Shetty is frequently invited as a faculty at several dermatology and plastic surgery society meetings including the American Association of Dermatology( AAD), Australian Association of Dermatology, Thai Derm Society & IADVL, ASDS and International Congress of Dermatology among others.
• Shetty is also an international trainer for facial injectables like Botox, fillers, energy based devices and cosmeceuticals with industry leaders like Allergan, Merz and Galderma. She has trained doctors across the world.
