Thank you but I do have written emails from the owner of these photos Samir Sammoun giving me permission to use them and for anyone else that wishes to use them as they have already been used free of charge on websites and in printed publications. I will forward my email from Mr.Sammoun to permissions-en@wikimedia.org as you have suggested. I appreciate your help. Thank you. I will forward my email with permissions to Permissions-en@wikimedia.org before uploading any new images. ArtTraditions (talk) 17:41, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have forward the email to Permissions-en@wikimedia.org today that grants me permission by the owner of the photos and images I am uploading and have uploaded to wikipedia - full permission and free use of these images. Thank you for helping me to correct this. I would appreciate if you could take the tag off my images you marked for deletion as I they do comply with wikipedia permissions - Thank you. File permission problem with File:Emile Lahoud President of Lebanon and Samir Sammoun.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Emile Lahoud President of Lebanon and Samir Sammoun.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:18, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Samir Sammoun Black and White Photo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Samir Sammoun Black and White Photo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:05, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you I have added the correct License. ArtTraditions (talk) 22:14, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 21:00, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

December 2013[edit]

Information icon Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Samir Sammoun. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. freshacconci talk to me 19:46, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have edited this article to comply with Wikipedia guidelines. Language used must remain neutral and cannot be promotional. Likewise, using historic terms such as "impressionist" and "post-impressionist" is incorrect as a contemporary artist cannot be part of those art movements. You may say he is influenced by those movements, if you have a reliable source, but do not include him as a member. If you are connected to this artist in any way, you should be aware that there may be a conflict of interest and you should avoid editing articles that you have a connection to. Please also see WP:OWN as this is not your article and other editors making legitimate edits should not be reverted for no reason.

Hi freshacconci talk to me 19:51, 31 December 2013 (UTC)I undid your changes to Samir Sammoun Article as I do not understand why you deleted my factual researched text. I had provided citations that prove they are factual and from a reliable written source this is not promotional but factual statements. This is important information about the Artist that should be included in this article. They are not one sided statements as you suggested I am a neutral party and Art Lover. This information was thoroughly researched. Thank you.[reply]

Again, the language used is not neutral. Please read the links I provided. I only removed statements that did not conform to Wikipedia guidelines. Any further changes should be discussed on the article talk page for other editors to weigh in on. freshacconci talk to me 20:04, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I will do that. Thank youArtTraditions (talk) 20:06, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
