I noticed your contribution to Charles McCann. I presume he is a part of your family history. A truly great naturalist ! Look forward to more on him. Shyamal 07:10, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have added photo here too. Thanks. Shyamal 07:14, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's more than two years since I created the entry—which I did more as a Wikipedia learning exercise than anything else—and it's a truly wonderful surprise to return and see it transformed into a substantial and useful article. I wish I'd checked back sooner. Shyamal, I hope you're still monitoring this; I would love to hear from you! Charles McCann is my wife's grandfather on her mother's side. We live in New Zealand and my wife's mother died a few years ago, so we have only sketchy details about his life. It is exciting to learn there is someone out there who knows a bit more. Many thanks for your valuable contribution! Cooperscreek (talk) 07:50, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry, I only noticed your message today. Yes, Charles McCann is one of those forgotten greats of Indian natural history. I am reachable by email too. Hit the mail option from my page. Best wishes. Shyamal (talk) 09:49, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
