Thanks for the invitation! Argentines have been extremely welcoming to me (and I haven't even left the U.S. yet!) I will certainly try to come to Lobos...your city looks quite nice and I am very much looking forward to seeing the countryside and smaller cities than BsAs...I have been corresponding with a couple of Argentinean Wikipedians (User:Zzzzzzus and User:Mxcatania) and there is some talk of a meetup in February, which would be pretty chevere (do you use that word, or did my Spanish teacher make it up?) Acabo de leer tus valientes intervención en el Café de wikipedia, así como las de [[1]] o la de [[2]], al parecer en mis supuestas antípodas ideológicas. En [[3]] también podrás encontrar usuarios y administradores que se oponen a la censura. Por cierto, que el sistema imperante en la wikipedia podía definirse como "despotismo iletrado" (parafraseando la expresión "Despotismo ilustrado", aunque tal vez no valga para el inglés). Básicamente, una serie de administradores se arrojan el derecho a borrar toda información y artículos que no les guste o no comprendan, sin más explicación que su fanatismo e ignorancia (ninguna en los resumenes ni en la página de discusión).

Eres libre de usar mi informe como mejor te plazca. Incluso puedes refundirlo, borrando y añadiendo información como creas conveniente. Hola Luis

Primero supe de ti, cuando lei la biografía de Bjork, en donde hiciste un gran trabajo. Después empeze a tener problemas con usuarios como dodo, especialmente en la página Isaac Newton, en donde pedía que hubiera neutralidad ya que yo decía que Isaac Newton estaba interesado en la alquimia, esto sin tener la menor idea de la vida de Isaac Newton, ya que pude demostrar lo que ponía, y la pagina de Isaac Newton paso a ser un artículo destacado y en estos momentos se encuentra en la portada. Mi nombre de usuario en wikipedia en español es xocoyote. SIn embargo com tu, decidí retirarme con este mensaje.

"Aunque lo más importante de una biografía es por los motivos que es conocido, es tambien de gran importancia situarlo en un contexto histórico, conocer su personalidad, y entender porque hizo lo que hizo. La biografía forma parte de la historia y la historia no es sim'plemente un recopilación de datos importantes. La diferencia entre una buena biografía y una "monografía" de la papelería, es la diferencia entre saber y entender, la diferencia entre lo que puede hacer un humano y lo que hace una máquina. Saber que Hitler se suicidó no es lo mismo que entender porqué se suicido, conocer el teorema de Gödel no requiere ningun trabajo mental.

La alquimia no forma únicamente parte escencial en el contexto histórico en que vivía Newton. Para Newton la alquímia era un posible puente entre la teología y la filosofía natural. Encontrar este puente es lo que se le llama el proyecto Newtoniano, y era en lo único que pensaba Newton. Teología-Alquimia-Filosofía Natural.

Me parece que hay muchos usarios (como Ascánder y Dodo) que prefieren que wikipedia sea una recopilación de datos importantes, mi intención no es insultarlos, es proponer un cambio. Si wikipedia no es lo que yo creo que es entonces yo, como Newton que no quizo publicar el Opticks hasta que Hooke muriera, me abstendré de participar hasta que esto cambie--xocoyote 05:49 16 ene 2006 (CET)

Explanation note: These messages in Spanish refer to the current irregularities on the Spanish Wikipedia. There, some administrators are being accused of infringing the rules and damaging articles by suppressing information and deleting entire works because under their personal criteria, some articles are not important. Therefore, they are creating a biased Spanish version, which is quite left behind if compared to others. I’m one of the users who firmly opposes to this kind of behavior.
