Original - The wisent or European bison (Bison bonasus) is the heaviest of the surviving land mammals in Europe. This male wisent was photographed in a game park near Springe in Germany. In keeping with the spring season, the wisent is moulting, his winter coat coming off in clumps.

Reason

Compelling composition. Technical aspects okay. Promoted at Commons earlier this year.
