Eric Owens lives in Columbus,Ohio where he works as a Graphic Designer. He was Born October 12, 1977 in Washington D.C. at Walter Reid Army Hospital.
Family[edit]
Eric grew up in a navy family mostly on Mayport Naval Station Florida. After his father retired from the navy in 1993 he moved to Maine where he lived until graduating high school.
His mother currently lives in Wisconsin. She moved there to be with her sisters after Eric’s father died in 2001.
Eric has two brothers, one older, and one younger. Both currently live in Columbus, Ohio.
In 2003 Eric was married to Margaret Jean Ellis. The couples live in their first owned home with two cats; Fonzo and Chachi.
Education, Work, etc…[edit]
During high school Eric was able to take on several independent studies on computers and graphic design. He worked as a graphic designer for the Vocational wing of the school making their programs and such, and prepared Masters presentations for a couple teachers.
After Graduating from high school in 1996 Eric moved to Ohio to live with his older brother and get on his feet. Shortly thereafter he got a job doing the advertising for an aftermarket power-sports accessory distributor where he still works today.
In the fall of 2005 he will begin as a junior at Ohio State University working toward a Bachelor of Fine Art Degree. Eric majors in Drawing and Painting with minors in Design and Art History.
Interests[edit]
- Movies – Eric is a avid movie fan and some say a walking encyclopedia of trivia.
- Comics – A comic artist himself, Eric has been collecting comics since he was a child.
- Art – Eric is interested in many different art forms, but loves paintings and illustration.
Published Work[edit]
- One More Lesson from the Old Man. (2001) A short 7 page comic about the death of his father, this story was published in OH, Comics 13. A yearly anthology published by Back Porch Comics.
- Touched: The Story of Alyssa Mcpheron. [1](2001-Present) Touched is a 12 part story Eric is slowly completing while going through school. It has been produced mainly as a web-comic, although Eric has self published 3 issues. Issues 1-2 are among the special comic art collection at Michigan State University.
