If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

Chinook Wind Article[edit]

Wikipedia is not a general repository for photos. My photo better illustrates the concept of a chinook "arch"; indeed, the other photos do not show this at all. So, even if I had not put mine in, I still believe yours are inappropriate and should be removed. This is not an "ego-trip"; rather, it is an attempt to make the article more relevant.

Also, your continued name calling of me is both juvenile and inaccurate. Please try to support the inclusion of your photos without resorting to it. In particular, I suggest you present arguments as to why you feel the older photos are a worthy addition to the article, and why mine is not. Elpoca 17:53, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

While I have no problem with the homeless stat being in the article, it was not my choice to put it in. I wasn't going to invest the effort to find the reference and link it because I knew that my comment would provoke the original contributer to do so anyway. It seems that it would have been common sense to do so in the first place. Furthermore, I am unaware of the source that the contributer actually used. It may have been a newspaper article, but it may also have been the original report. I'm not going to place a reference in an article when it wasn't actually the one that was used. In fact, I'm not even sure if that's technically legal. --Arch26 06:01, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly. And when citing references, it is good form to use the <ref></ref> tags and give the name of the newspaper article, date, and author, where any of those are known. Personally, I think newspaper articles are best avoided, especially if the statistics they give don't themselves cite sources that can be verified by another source from an actual agency responsible for compiling figures.Michael Dorosh 13:51, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lethbridge Corn Maze[edit]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Lethbridge Corn Maze, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Lethbridge Corn Maze. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Swarming (crime)[edit]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Swarming (crime), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of GreenLife[edit]

A tag has been placed on GreenLife, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
