Vicki Lane

[edit]

Vicki Lane,(b. November 12th in Alabama, USA)writes paranormal and romantic suspense. At age ten she started writing short stories for her and her younger sister to act out in front of their parents. She realized writing was her passion in the 8th grade when her teacher had them write a paper by choosing a picture from the blackboard. She received an F since the teacher thought she'd copied the story from her mothers "True Romance" magazine. Once her mother spoke with the teacher to assure her Vicki had indeed written the paper the grade was quickly changed to an A and the teacher told her she should consider this as her field.

As with many, she married, had two wonderful children and stopped writting. Several years ago she picked up the proverbial pen, actually it was a laptop, and began writing again.

Vicki is a member of Romance Writers of Americaand her local chapter, Tampa Area Romance Authors.

She takes online writing classes and is focused on her journey towards publication.

Although she works a full time job, she writes each night when she comes home and on the weekends. She believes in giving herself deadlines and writing every day.

Vicki writes paranormal and loves digging into her characters heads and finding out they don't want to do what she thought they would. The plot thickens and she's glad she listened to them.

Her blog Writing With Vickihas a little bit of everything, from contest giveaways to the writing journey to life in general. She hopes to soon have the rush of "the call" and is looking forward to have a deadline and all that goes with it. Vickilane (talk) 21:17, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
