Öveç (Kurdish: Sûrûnis,[2] Syriac: Sārūnīs[3]) is a village in the Şemdinli District in Hakkâri Province in Turkey.[4] The village is populated by Kurds of the Humaru tribe and had a population of 486 in 2023.[1][5]
Öveç has the two hamlets of Harmanlı (Dêrebanî) and Karakuş (Derya) attached to it.[2][4]
History
