Jeremy James Farrar MRCP FMedSci OBE is a Professor of Tropical medicine at the University of Oxford and director of the Wellcome Trust, one of world’s largest research charities.[8][9][10][11][4][12]
Education
Farrar completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Oxford in 1998 on Myasthenia gravis.[13]
Career
Prior to leading the Wellcome Trust, Farrar was Director of the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Vietnam.[14]
Research
Farrar's research interests include work on Tuberculosis,[15] Dengue,[16][17][18][19] Typhoid fever, Malaria, and Influenza H5N1.[20][21][22][23][2]
Awards and honours
Farrar is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and the Academy of Medical Sciences (FMedSci) and an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE).
