A.P. Anil Kumar (born 15 March 1965) is the Minister for Tourism and Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Castes in the Indian state of Kerala. He represents Wandoor constituency in the Legislative assembly of Kerala winning by a margin of 28919 votes during the 2011 assembly election.

Biography

A.P. Anil Kumar was born in Kanakkan community to A.P. Balan and K.L. Devaki on 15 March 1965 at Malappuram, Kerala.

He started his political career through the Kerala Students Union and was the State Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress. In 2001, he was elected from the Vandur Constituency to the Kerala Legislative Assembly and later became Minister with portfolios of social, cultural and youth affairs in the Oommen Chandy Ministry in 2004. He was re-elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2006 and 2011. He was a member of the Executive committee of Kerala Agricultural University during 2002-04 and the Student welfare committee chairman.

He is married to Praseeja and has two sons.
