Arintharat 26 is a SWAT team of the Royal Thai Police.[1]

Introduction[edit]

Like the SWAT teams of other country, the squad specializes in hostage rescue, counter-terrorism, serving high risk arrest and search warrants; subduing barricaded suspects; and engaging heavily armed criminals.

Equipment[edit]

Arintharat 26 officers are often equipped with specialized firearms including the Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine guns, M16 assault rifles, Remington 870 breaching shotguns, riot control agents, stun grenades, sniper rifles and other necessary weapons.

They have specialized equipment including heavy body armor, ballistic shields, entry tools, armored vehicles, advanced night vision optics, and motion detectors for covertly determining the positions of hostages or hostage takers inside enclosed structures.
