HIV Outbreak

As of April 2015, 135 new cases of HIV have been reported for the tiny county. It was determined that intravenous drug use was the cause of the disease quickly spreading through Scottsburg and nearby Austin, both Scott County communities. The governor authorized a needle exchange program to slow the spread of HIV.
