Barisal Cadet College (Bengali: বরিশাল ক্যাডেট কলেজ), is a military high school in Rahmatpur, Babuganj, Bangladesh. It is located 12 km from Barisal, beside the Dhaka Barisal highway.

[edit] History

Before the independence of Bangladesh, the previous government established four cadet colleges like British public schools. After independence, due to the success of those schools , the Bangladesh Defense Force kept those colleges (which are High schools by American definition) and established eight more Cadet Colleges (three girls and five 5 boys).

Previously, it was Barisal Residential Model College. In 1981 the Bangladesh government declared it as a cadet college. Its first principal was Md. Mufazzal Husain who worked a lot to establish it in its initial stage. As a cadet college, it consistently has a large number of placements of its alumni in the national armed forces. In addition, it is notable for its results in the national exams at the secondary school and higher secondary level and the placements of its alumni in the national universities.in the recent few years this prestigious institution is making excellent result and reaching the acme of success.
