Batman – The Dark Knight is a steel floorless roller coaster located at Six Flags New England. Opened on April 20, 2002, the ride has a purple and blue track with black supports. It was the eighth coaster built at the park, and the only roller coaster in New England built by Bolliger & Mabillard.[1]

The layout of the ride is compact but packed with five inversions. After the signature Bolliger & Mabillard predrop, the track twists 180 degrees to complete a swooping left-turn drop before sending riders into a large vertical loop at 55 miles per hour (89 km/h). The loop is followed by a dive loop to the right. The train passes the station before undergoing a left 180 degree banked turn that passes through the first loop. The turn is followed by an on-ride photo, then a zero-g-roll that makes riders momentarily feel no gravitational pull. The final two elements are interlocking corkscrews that send riders into the brake run.[1] Since the ride is very short (in comparison to other B&Ms), but still has 5 inversions, there is very little "break time" between inversions, resulting in a relatively intense B&M floorless ride.

Batman – The Dark Knight was renamed in 2008 to Batman: The Ride due to the proposed new roller coaster The Dark Knight, scheduled to open at Six Flags New England[2] along with two others, at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey and Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. The new Six Flags New England coaster was canceled shortly after construction began due to permitting issues. The name was switched back to the original following the cancellation of The Dark Knight Coaster, which took place only a few months after its groundbreaking.
