Begum Jaan is an upcoming Indian historical drama film directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt. Music composer of the movie is Anu Malik. Also Asha Bhosle is collaborating with the veteran composer after 10 years of long hiatus. She will be seen singing classical melody for Begum Jaan.The film is the adaptation of the 2015 Bengali film Rajkahini.[1][2] Principal photography of the film began in June 2016 and was completed in August 2016. [3][4] The film is scheduled for release in January 6, 2017.[3]

Vidya Balan plays the lead role of a brothel's madam during the partition of India in 1947.[5]
