Consolidated city-county
[edit]On this wiki page, Consolidated city-county,
Philadelphia is listed. As such I am once again removing the county link. evrik 19:13, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
Truce ?
[edit]Let's bring in a third party or put this up to a vote. evrik 20:49, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
Category Merge
[edit]I nominated this category for a merge.evrik
use of county category
[edit]County categories should remain when there is at least the potential for an amount of information to be generated regarding the county outside of the city. - CobaltBlueTony 21:42, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Use of the county is duplicative
[edit]It is unnecessary as a category. Look at San Franciscoevrik 03:43, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- SF is a different entity with different details relating to the existence of the county. - CobaltBlueTony 20:39, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- They are essentially in the same place today. Keep the article on the County, lose the category.evrik 22:20, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- And what about future articles about events and places in the county that will not be placed in the city category? - CobaltBlueTony 22:30, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- They shoulad all go in one place. evrik 20:09, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- You just don't get it do you? If you look closely at the county's history, there were a lot of things occur differently between the city and county, and just to dimiss this category is quite frankly foolish. Look at YOUR history!! Unlike Philadelphia, San Francisco city and county had the same relationship since nearly the beginning of each other's existance. --Moreau36, 2347; 31 December 2005

- Moreau36 makes a good point. Especially since the 13 colonies were inhabited by Europeans since at least the 1600's, and Philadelphia County existed and functioned over and separate from the city, which was alot smaller (obviously). So there's 200 years of history to be explored and added as articles here. Definitely, we need a categoryt for those articles! - CobaltBlueTony 05:13, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, and that place is Philadelphia. Philly was and still is the heart of the area. evrik 16:10, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

- It doesn't amtter if it was the "heart" of anything. The city was a different place, and any event which took place outside the city boundaries but within the county need to be organized as such. Your interpretations don't have any precedence, even as SF developed differently. - CobaltBlueTony 17:00, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
