Chance Thomas Leo Sisco (born February 24, 1995) is an American professional baseball catcher for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Career

Sisco attended Santiago High School in Corona, California.[1] The Baltimore Orioles selected Sisco in the second round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.[2] He opted to sign with the Orioles rather than play college baseball at the University of Oregon.[3]

Sisco made his professional debut that season for the Gulf Coast Orioles of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League and ended the year with the Aberdeen IronBirds of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League.[4] He finished his first year hitting .363/.468/.451 and a home run in 33 games.[5] Sisco played the 2014 season with the Delmarva Shorebirds of the Class A South Atlantic League (SAL).[6] He won the SAL batting title after hitting .340 and also had five home runs and a .854 on-base plus slugging (OPS).[7] In 2015, he played for the Frederick Keys of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League and the Bowie Baysox of the Class AA Eastern League. After the season he played in the Arizona Fall League.[8][9] Sisco played 2016 with Bowie and the Norfolk Tides of the Class AAA International League.[10] In July, he played in the All-Star Futures Game.[11][12]

The Orioles promoted Sisco to the major leagues on September 1, 2017.[13] He made his Major League debut the next night as a defensive replacement in the ninth inning.
