Eunectes deschauenseei is a nonvenomous boa species found in northeastern South America. No subspecies are currently recognized.[4]

[edit] Geographic range
Found in South America in northeastern Brazil, Guyana and coastal French Guiana, the type locality given is "probably collected on the island of Marajo at the mouth of the Amazon."[1]
When this snake, commonly known as the “dark-spotted anaconda”, was first found, it was given to the Philadelphia Zoo.[citation needed] Mating probably takes place at the end of the dry season, around June to August. They can have between three and 26 neonates in a litter, with sizes ranging between 32 and 60 cm.
