[edit] Plot
Hank attempts to disprove Becca’s theory about the non-existence of happy endings by landing Karen a job and setting up an intimate dinner for the three of them. Charlie and Marcy decide to give a threesome a try with Charlie’s assistant, Dani. Mia finds herself in a compromising situation with her teacher.
[edit] Cultural references
- Becca compares the result of Hank and Karen's relationship to the Robert Frost poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay". Hank later responds to Becca's comparison by telling her "Stay gold, Ponyboy", a line from the novel The Outsiders, a story in which Robert Frost's poem also plays a small part.
- The name of the episode, "Girls, Interrupted" is a direct reference to both the 1999 film "Girl, Interrupted" as well as Sex and the City episode "Boy, Interrupted" in which David Duchovny also appears.

- Argyle Johansen - "Sunny Day in Hell"
- Slow Train Soul - "Mississippi Freestylin'"
- Lady Sa - "Sweetless"
- Mexican Institute of Sound - "A Girl Like You"
- Death Cab for Cutie - "Passenger Seat"
