Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal 2010 passing Édouard-Montpetit Blvd.

The Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal is a one-day professional bicycle road race held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Its first edition was held on September 12, 2010 as the final event in the 2010 UCI ProTour.

With the Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec held two days earlier, the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal is one of only two stops in North America of the UCI World Tour. As of today, no cyclist has achieved a Canadian double by winning both the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal and the Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec in the same year.[1]

Route

The Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal is not alike many single day events a point to point race, but a circuit based race. The riders race for 17 laps on a 12,1 km long circuit. During a lap on the circuit the riders need to climb three hills: Côte Camilien-Houde (1,8km long and 8% average grade), Côte de la Polytechnique (780m long and 6% average grade) and Avenue du Parc (560m long and 4% average grade). The finish is uphill on the Avenue du Parc.

Alerting users

  • {{alert/first}} ({{Contentious topics/alert/first}}) is used, on a user's talk page, to "alert", or draw a user's attention, to the contentious topics system if they have never received such an alert before. In this case, this template must be used for the notification.
  • {{alert}} ({{Contentious topics/alert}}) is used, on a user's talk page, to "alert", or draw a user's attention, to the fact that a specific topic is a contentious topic. It may only be used if the user has previously received any contentious topic alert, and it can be replaced by a custom message that conveys the contentious topic designation.
  • {{alert/DS}} ({{Contentious topics/alert/DS}}) is used to inform editors that the old "discretionary sanctions" system has been replaced by the contentious topics system, and that a specific topic is a contentious topic.
  • {{Contentious topics/aware}} is used to register oneself as already aware that a specific topic is a contentious topic.
