Kelly Knight-Craft is an American businesswoman, Republican donor, and diplomat who has been confirmed to serve as the next United States Ambassador to Canada.[1][2][3][4] In 2007, she was appointed by President George W. Bush as the U.S. delegate to the United Nations, where her focus included U.S. engagement in Africa.[5][6] Knight-Craft was a delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention from Kentucky. She is a member of the University of Kentucky's board of directors.[5] She heads Kelly G. Knight LLC, a business advisory firm based in Lexington, Kentucky.[7]

Early life and education

Knight-Craft was born in 1962, the daughter of the late veterinarian Dr. Bobby Guilfoil.[8] She grew up in Glasgow, Kentucky[9] and graduated with a B.A. from the University of Kentucky.

Political donations

Knight-Craft has been described as a generous donor to political candidates.[10] Vice News Canada reported that Knight-Craft and her current husband donated million of dollars to those seeking the Republican nomination for President in 2015 and 2016.[11] Prior to choosing to donate to Donald Trump's campaign they donated to the campaigns of Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Chris Christie.

Personal life

Knight-Craft has been married three times and divorced twice. She married David S. Moross in 1985[12] and orthodontist Judson Knight in 1992.[13] She wed Joe Craft in April 2016.[14] She has two children.
