Proposed extensions

West

In the near future this section of the line (from Andemen Station to Olympic Stadium Station), together with its west extension, will break away from Line 1 to form a new line on the system: Line 10. Line 1 will then run as a straight north-south line from Maigaoqiao Station to CPU Station (China Pharmaceutical University).[4][5] Currently, an extension that will extend Line 1 further west is under construction. This extension starts from Olympic Stadium Station and will tentatively be 14.4 km in length with 8 stations.[6] It is expected to enter operation in 2015.

North

There are plans for Line 1 to extend northwards to Yanziji Station. The first phase of the extension line will cover a length of 5 km with 4 elevated stations.[7]
