If pivot selection is based on sampling from the input then quasirandom numbers would not help on random input; and if pivot selection is based on sampling from the range of input values directly, this would result in quadratic runtime for skewed input. Moreover, it is not correct that quasirandom points improve continuously as more points are added. Sobol points will only improve every time the number of points is doubled, for example. Using 2^n+1 points is worse than using 2^n, as it destroys the digital net property. undo
