Name of the module[edit]

If anyone is watching, the “Melbourne” in the name should be “Metro Trains Melbourne” as the module documentation erroneously states that the operator is Melbourne. I haven’t moved this, as I don’t know if it would mess up the use of the module in articles. Fork99 (talk) 07:50, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Purin128AL: Ping. Fork99 (talk) 07:51, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Moving this would mess up around 1000 articles although I might be able to use AutoWikiBrowser to semi-automactically change all the articles.
I support a name change, but Metro Trains Melbourne would not be suitable since it is an operator's name, not the name of the system. I would suggest something like PTV train, Melbourne Trains, etc. We'll need to bring more people into discussion. Purin128AL (talk) 08:25, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Purin128AL: I’ll start a discussion somewhere higher up the chain, I’ll ping you. Hmm, the whole point of the change is so that it correctly states the operator. Yeah it would be a mess if in future the name were to change, but from my understanding, the Victorian government reserves the right to keep the name “Metro” even if MTM the actual consortium loses the contract. It's easy enough to move. You just need to create a stub at the old name. For example see Module:Adjacent stations/DLR. -- WOSlinker (talk) 11:17, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok in that case, I will move it now then. Fork99 (talk) 11:38, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
