Phil Cunningham (born 17 December 1974, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England) is a British guitarist who is a member of the band Bad Lieutenant. He was previously a member of New Order, where he replaced Gillian Gilbert as a band member, but with a slightly different role, with less synthesizer and more guitar work.
Cunningham was also a member of the Britpop group Marion who formed in 1993 and disbanded in 1999. They reformed in 2006 but became inactive in 2008.[citation needed]
Cunningham was also involved in a band called Run Run Run but due to New Order obligations, he had to leave the project.[citation needed]
Following the demise of New Order, Phil Cunningham joined Bernard Sumner and Jake Evans to form Bad Lieutenant.
Cunningham will play at New Order's 2011 reunion concerts, this time with Gillian Gilbert returning to the band too.[1]
