Sabaneta is a town and municipality in the Colombian department of Antioquia, also part of the Metropolitan Area of Medellín.
Sabaneta is well known for its cathedral, Maria Auxiliadora and its surrounding nightclubs, bars and arts & crafts stores. Sabaneta is known for being the smallest municipality in Colombia and one of the better managed in the country.
Sabaneta is also the site chosen by the constructors of the "Edificio Faro Monarca", a building under construction which will become Colombia's tallest building and South America's second tallest. However, people[who?] normally say that the building is in Medellin, since Sabaneta is in the Metropolitan Area of Medellín.
