Shangri-La Plaza (colloquially called as Shang) is a large, upscale-luxury shopping mall located in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, Philippines established by the Kuok Group of Companies, the owner of the worldwide chain of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. Shangri-La Plaza has the Crossings Department Store, and Rustan's Department Store as anchor stores to name a few. Shangri-La Plaza opened on November 21, 1991 and contains more than 300 stores along with several restaurants.

A new expansion, called the East Wing, has opened last 2013. The expansion is a part of the 64-storey, twin-tower condominium development called One Shangri-La Place. The new East Wing is seamlessly connected to the Main Mall by a glass footbridge. The expansion has six levels full of high-end shops and restaurants. For convenience, it features a two-level basement carpark and it is also connected to the North Wing Carpark seamlessly.

The mall is undergoing a major renovation after the opening of East Wing. It will now sport an all-new interior and exterior that will match the newer malls in Metro Manila.

Location[edit]

Shangri-La Plaza is located at Wack-Wack Greenhills, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, Philippines. It is bounded by EDSA and Shaw Boulevard.

Layout[edit]

Shangri-La Plaza (2007)

Shangri-La Plaza is a large shopping mall filled with massive hallways and upscale stores. During its development phase, it is divided into several wings, although altogether forms a large building. Within it are several themed areas for the diverse interests of its visitors. The Garden Food Court, located at the lower ground level features a garden-like theme and several food stalls and restaurants. Rustan's Fresh Supermarket is located there. The Technohub, located beside the Garden Food Court, features computer and gadget shops with a futursitic theme. An arcade (Quantum) and an appliance center (Abenson) is located at the end of the LG Level. The Fifth lies on the fifth level of the building and featuring international and Filipino lifestyle brands. On the ground level can be found the Streetscape, an al fresco style of restaurants. On the Art Plaza, a diverse exhibition of paintings and other masterpieces of Filipino and other international artists are featured. The Shang Cineplex, located on the sixth and seventh level, features five state of the art movie theaters. The Premiere Theatre, is an upscale theater used for private/corporate viewing with a capacity of 88 persons and has regular screening when unreserved.

The mall's unique feature is a long escalator, which directs shoppers from Second to Fourth Levels and Fourth to Sixth Levels.

It features a large atrium, which is popular for mall visitors during the Christmas Season because of its eccentric and beautiful Christmas Decorations.

The Mall is connected to the MRT Shaw Boulevard Station and Starmall EDSA-Shaw (adjacent to the station) at the Fifth Level.
