Spider Solitaire is a card game that is included in Microsoft Windows. It is a version of Spider. It was first included in Microsoft Plus! for Windows 98.
Features
Spider Solitaire allows moves to be retracted, except when dealing a new row or completing a run (ace-to-king sequence, which is then removed). Any number of moves can be retracted, back to the last non-retractable move. Therefore, a possible strategy is to expose as many face-down cards as possible, retracting afterward, before choosing a move. The version of Spider Solitaire included in Windows Vista allows row deals to be retracted and has been updated to have a new high resolution interface including new animation and sound effects. Windows Vista also allows users to have limited customization of appearance by choosing background colors and card face designs or have them chosen randomly.[1] Windows Vista also included a new feature that tells the user when there are no more moves.
Gameplay
The aim of the game is to get all of the cards in order (King to Ace). There are three levels of difficulty; Beginner (one suit), Intermediate (two suits), and Advanced (four suits). The user clicks and drags the card to the desired location. In Windows Vista, if you need help, you can press H on the keyboard and it will highlight the next possible moves. However, this results in a loss of points. When there are no more possible moves, you can end the game or undo previous moves and try again. Windows also keeps track of your scores for your reference, view them by going to File and then Statistics. In Windows 7, you can view these scores in the Games Explorer by clicking the game and selecting the Statistics tab in the Preview Pane.
