St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital[2] serves as the lead hospital for St. Luke's Episcopal Health System, and is based at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. St. Luke's Episcopal Health System also includes St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities, St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital, St. Luke's Sugar Land Hospital, St. Luke's Lakeside Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital at The Vintage and St. Luke's Patients Medical Center. The hospital is also affiliated with the Texas Heart Institute (THI).
Since its opening, St. Luke's has received numerous awards for its medical accomplishments. The hospital is credited with hosting the first successful heart transplantation, the first artificial heart in 2002, 2004 and 2005, St. Luke's was named to FORTUNE Magazine's list of "100 Best Companies to Work For."

- 1945 - The hospital is originally chartered as a 180 bed, non-profit, general hospital.[2]
- 1947 - The charter increases to include 300 beds.[2]
- 1962 - The hospital affiliates with Texas Heart Institute.[2]
- 2000 - St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital satellite Urgent Care center which becomes St. Luke's Community Emergency Center, the first of 5-centers St. Luke's opens in 2000-09
- 1997 - The Episcopal Diocese of Texas establishes the non-profit St. Luke's Episcopal Health System.[2]
- 2002 - St. Luke's finalizes its purchase of the physician group, Kelsey-Seybold Management Services, LLP.[2]
- 2003 - St. Luke's Episcopal Health System opens St. Luke's Diagnostic & Treatment Center - Kirby Glen. [2]
- 2003 - St. Luke's Luke's The Woodlands Hospital opens
- 2008 - St. Luke's Sugar Land Hospital opens. [2]
- 2009 - St. Luke's Lakeside Hospital opens on the St. Luke's The Woodlands campus. [2]
- 2010 - St. Luke's Hosptial at The Vintage opens. [2]
