Sushanth Anumolu, known mononymously as Sushanth, is an Indian actor known for his work in Telugu cinema. He made his acting debut with Kalidasu (2008). His notable works include Current (2009), Chi La Sow (2018) and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020).

Early life

Sushanth was brought up in Hyderabad. He is the son of Anumolu Sathya Bhushana Rao and Naga Susheela Akkineni. He completed his schooling from Hyderabad Public School and his high school from Gautami Junior College. Sushanth finished his bachelor's degree in ECE, Electronics and Computer Engineering, in USA from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He worked at United Technologies and Schlumberger as an Electrical Engineer before returning to India to pursue his passion in acting. He attended the Kreating Charakters Training school in Mumbai for a short course in acting along with his cousin Naga Chaitanya.[1]

He is the grandson of veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao and the nephew of actor Nagarjuna. Actors Naga Chaitanya, Akkineni Akhil and Sumanth are his first cousins. His paternal grandfather, A.V. Subba Rao, also belonged to the film fraternity and had produced over 25 films in Telugu, Hindi & Tamil, in the 1970s and 1980s under the banner of Prasad Art Pictures.[citation needed]

Career

Sushanth started his film career with Kalidasu alongside Tamannaah.

His next film was a love story, Current. The film was directed by Surya Pratap and starring Bollywood actress Sneha Ullal and was a musical chartbuster with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The song 'Atu Nuvve Itu Nuvve' became a classic.

Sushanth's third film, Adda, was a commercial entertainer. Shanvi, who debuted with film Lovely, was his co-star. The film's title song was performed during an IPL match in Hyderabad[2] and the promotional video was launched thereafter.
