Trademarks

[edit]

The edit below was unsigned: "ERI shows that the "Rototiller" name is a registed trademark for their FM broadcast antenna systems: http://www.eriinc.com/about/history/index.htm http://www.eriinc.com/products/rbs/CA21830A_01.pdf Be it of note that the "ROTOTILLER" antenna line resembles the blades of a rotary tiller."

Bear in mind that the same trademark can be obtained by different applicants for other classes of product or service. Gregorydavid 14:00, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Being redirected from " Power tiller " I came to this page. Power tiller can be generic term also for rotary tiller not only in east Asia you you note, but in all of Asia (Bangladesh has 350,000, India 60,000 and growing very quickly, China's numbers could approach 1M but nobody knows yet for sure, parts of Africa and even in parts of Europe. As you note these are farm power tillers that not only rotovate but have mold board and disc plows, seeder (even zero till), harvest grains, pull 2 ton plus trailer loads, all the chores done by large tractors. I intend to start a page soon on these "Asian" tractors and would like to "use" the "power tiller" page. We use the term 2-wheel tractor here in my programs in south Asia but nearly all farmers in this area refer to them as power tillers. SEJustice 15:48, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am arguing against merging two-wheel tractors into "rotary tiller." The two-wheel tractor is just that, a tractor, and a rotary tiller is technically and simply a tractor attachment. Please see extended argument in the "Talk: Two-wheel tractor" page. SEJustice 03:37, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I went in and did quite a bit of editing and additions to reflect my above comments. I would like to see an additional photo of a 4-wheel tractor rotovator added and would like to replace the photo of the Japanese agricultural rotovator with a riding type Chinese that are much more common in developing countries these days. Shaker's "Rotary Harrow"

[edit]

I just interwiki-redirected "Rotary harrow" to "Rotary hoe" from the Shakers page. The Shaker's page said that their communities were semiotically architectured upon the compass rose, sacred architecture, and that they created the propellor and the rotary harrow amongst other things. I am not informed in this matter. I will leave the redirect stand: though it would be very appreciated if somebody a "mover & a shaker" with knowledge in this matter could please complete what I have left undone?
Thanking you in anticipation.
Blessings in blood

There is an advertisement for the company Mantis on the page under section Origin. Can somebody please remove it, I don't know how to do it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raindog80 (talkcontribs) 23:21, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Debate on tilling using rototillers

[edit]

While trying to find this article, amusingly, I found the front page of google littered with anti-rototilling articles (e.g. [1] and [2]. I don't know enough on the subject to say whether this is crackpot or not, but there is a page, No-till_farming, currently contentious, that could be referenced. What do folks think?
