Untitled[edit]

Half of these pitchers got their 3000th K in the month of July. Any idea why this happens this way. Wouldn't this be a statistical anomaly? Maybe someone ever checking this talk page would be a statistical anomaly. Who knows? --Lord Voldemort ^{(Dark Mark)} 17:04, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's probably largely a statistically anomoly... However, it may also be of note to realize that a pitcher traditionally throws most effectively (and consequently, the hardest) in warmer weather, and being that July is one of the warmer of the months during a baseball season, maybe pitchers just tend to be throwing harder, and therefore recieveing more strikeouts, during this month. The 3000 strikeout club is the only one that is really seriously discussed (though any round number, particularly 500s and 1000s, get mentioned). Plus I don't know if you need to mark that 4XXX is more than 4000. Staxringold _talk^contribs 21:20, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
