Cleanup[edit]

I've just completed a copy-edit of this whole article, mostly cleaning up grammar and organization. I did remove a few passages, which either were repetitive, or seemed to be original research -- the English was rather broken however, so it's possible I misread the intent and if so I apologize.

I also removed this more substantial passage, which is pulled from the "Architecture". imp.nakhchivan.az. source:

   The International symposiums such as "Nakhchivan in International Resources" in 1996, "Prophet Noah, World Storm and Nakhchivan" in 2009, "Nakhchivan: as the essential settlement and urban working" in 2011, "Nakhchivan: the essential city and Duzdagh" in 2012 played a crucial role in protecting the architectural legacy of the school of Nakhchivan. There are 1,200 registered architectural monuments listed during 2006-2012.

Perhaps the English-language sources are simply lacking, but I could find no other mention of these symposiums except for these PDFs on the same domain. They are in Azerbaijani so unfortunately I'm not equipped to evaluate their academic bonafides, but the very fact of the lack of English language material raises skepticism that these symposiums did much to raise the region's International renown, and the titles strongly suggest a political bent or WP:FRINGE opinions.

Which brings me to the biggest problem remaining with this article: it is heavily reliant on the imp.nakhchivan.az source, which in general is a wikipedia no-no, but particularly in this case as this page includes some wildly political statements that raise questions of WP:RELIABILITY. The historical facts generally seem to check out from my cross-referencing, so I don't know it needs to be excised completely, but I would highlight adding some additional sources as a major priority here.

After thinking on it for some time, I'm also left with some unease pondering whether this page is WP:NPOV due to what it doesn't say. I just stumbled in here and saw some low-hanging editorial fruit, but it is of course rather close to the contentious topic of Armenia–Azerbaijan relations, on which I am not well-informed. After doing a bit more reading I'm left wondering if it's appropriate that this article catalogs the rich Azerbaijani architectural heritage of a region which, indeed in the same time period as it was establishing these heritage sites, has been accused of operating a program of erasing its Armenian cultural heritage.

Technically that is off-topic for this article, but is that because the framing of the article is wrong? I can't help but return to what I thought was another minor issue to mention, but maybe is a bigger one: none of the English-language sources seem to make clear whether this "Architectural school" actually existed. Is it just assumed there was an institution responsible for the similar styles of these various builders? Or is "school" used in a strictly colloquial sense to refer to the style?
