This page should not be speedily deleted because... (The person is highly popular and belongs to noble family in Pakistan as she was ex-wife of interior minister of pakistan, and had big controversy at that time when she converted, hence the person is very famous in south Asian Christian Many books are written on the person how she converted to Christianity what she experienced and how was her experience towards Christianity, i think world should be know about her and her sacrifice as being a noble person from wealthy family she left everything to get rescued from persecution in Pakistan, and i think Wikipedia is right place where we get a good information and knowledge) --marshmir (talk) 17:12, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because <the article is about a revolutionary person in Pakistan an Islamic nation where freedom of speech means harsh punishment and even persecution, though a person challenges to its system and gets converted to Christ, a person is not a normal and ordinary, she belongs to a political background and had great controversy in Pakistan at that time as her ex husband was minister in interior and she belongs to a wealthy nawab family article tells about her experience that how she overcome with the situation and finally got converted. the article is more important for Christian evangelism and revivalism >. — Dsouzamarshall (talk) 18:04, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would please like to pint out a major flaw in this article --Bilquis Sheikh was NOT the daughter of Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan -- Sir Sikandar only had five daughters, i.e. late Begum Mahmooda Salim Khan, late Begum Talat Hyat, late Begum Zaida Hyat, Mrs Tahira Mazhar Ali mother of Tariq Ali (alive) and Mrs Bashir Koreshi (alive). This is an entirely erroneous bit of information and there seems to be much more that is wrong with this article, in factual terms. I think it should either be deleted or submitted to major edits. 39.54.63.228 (talk) 09:00, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Yasir Hyat Khan (Wah family)[reply]

I have again checked the references supposedly reg Bilquis Sheikhs 'Personal Background' section and there is NO information about her origins family in Shaukat Hayat Khan's book. This section seems to be almost all made up. 39.54.63.228 (talk) 09:10, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Yasir Hyat Khan (Wah family)[reply]

Recommended deletion of almost whole section on supposed 'Personal Background'[edit]

Dear Sirs, Wikipedia, I have again checked the references/citations in this disputed section, and three of them, on which the subject's whole 'family' background/origins are based, and entirely unrelated to the topic. Shaukat Hayat Khan's book does not mention the subject on page 16-17, he mentions only his own birth and family previously and starting from this page (English edition) he talks about his military career. In the Urdu version this page falls in the chapter of his later militaryt training at the IMA. The author os this article seems to suggest, without any veracity, that Bilquis Sheikh was a sister of Shaukat Hayat which isnt the case at all and its only a slanted and misrepresented citation. In the same way, Ayesha Jalal's ref and another one only refer to political events relating to Sir Sikandar and NOT to Bilquis Sheikh at all. Yet, they are placed here as refs/citations as if to suggest that somehow theyre probably concerned with Bilquis Sheikh, or her family, birth, background etc.

I have also taken the liberty of contacting several elders here, in my family, and from them this information emerges but its only hearsay, and there are no citations/refs to go along: (a) that Bliquis Sheikh was originally from the [[Khattar] tribe of Wah, and distantly related to Sir Sikandar Hyat, the main Wah/Hayat Family probably on her maternal side and (b) she was actually from the 'Sheikh' family. I have already listed Sir Sikandar Hyat's five daughters above and Im sorry to say that most of this section is of a rather dubious veracity and I would strongly recommend and request that it might be deleted. As a member of the Wah Hayat family I take strong exception to this. Thank you very much. 39.54.123.210 (talk) 11:58, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Yasir Hyat Khan[reply]

Dear Mr. Yasir Hyat Khan and User:marshmir I think we have already gone over this ground, sometime ago, in Nov-Dec 2011, on the Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan article's talk pages. Certainly, late Begum Bilquis Sheikh was not a daughter of Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan, but the daughter of his cousin Muzaffar Ali Khan, and sister of late Mazhar Ali Khan and aunt of Tariq Ali, hence a Khattar from Wah-- Sir Sikandar's third daughter, Mrs Tahira Mazhar Ali was married to Begum Sheikh's brother, the above mazhar Ali Khan. I suppose we can make some sort of compromise and amend this article (as I propose to do) i the light of this, and also remove/amend references/citations. I think this is an otherwise useful article and should stay. Best regards to you both Khani100 (talk) 13:35, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100[reply]

In the 'Religious Covresion' section there seems to be a suggestion that Mm Sheikh's family tried to 'murder' her, which seems to be a bit far-fetched and very difficult to prove or verify. I shall tone this down and make it into a more rational statement. AsadUK200 (talk) 09:12, 10 April 2012 (UTC)AsadUK200[reply]

Removed[edit]

As per my comments on the talk pages of Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan, Shaukat Hayat Khan and Khattar, I am also removing this page from my watch and editorial lists. Khani100 (talk) 19:43, 21 April 2012 (UTC)Khani100[reply]
