photos[edit]

Since the notability of the topic of the article is the designation as a Registered Historic Place, and the designation covers both buildings, I think it is appropriate to have a photo of both buildings. For those who think it looks too crowded, you might try changing your default thumbnail size (in preferences).--Appraiser 00:39, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we should be asking readers of articles to change their default settings to make articles look good. But as an alternative, is it possible to get a picture where you can see both buildings? That would be ideal. The two black-and-white photos come from the Historic American Buildings Survey, which most likely doesn't have both buildings in one photo. I have a present-day photo of the remains of Dow Hall, but I need to get my friend's approval to upload it under a Creative Commons license. (This shouldn't be a problem, since I told him I wanted photos for Wikipedia.) As far as actually formatting these photos is concerned, we could put in some sort of table after the two text sections of the article, and then everything should look nice. Since Dow Hall no longer exists, the only good photos that I know of that are in the public domain are the ones on HABS. The article looked fine to me, before, on two of my computers, with different screen sizes. Perhaps Martijn Hoekstra was experiencing a browser problem. What was the specific problem you were experiencing? Did the text get covered by the picture?

The article certainly could be expanded in text, which might also solve his problem. I would add more, but the online sources I found don't say much more. Does the Mary Nord book have details that could be added?--Appraiser 15:20, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nah, it wasn't a browser problem, it was purely cosmetic. At my resolution an thumb size, it just got too cluttered. I'll make you a screenshot to show. Martijn Hoekstra 15:21, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
