Born

[edit]

There's some conflict on birth date. This current article reads the year 1831. The old Messianic Judaism wiki [1] reads 1821. The Companion to the Revised Old Testament (Chambers, 1885) reads "Born in Poland about 1825".

Apostacy

[edit]

Funny, the article says nothing whatever about his conversion to Christianity. Please supplement.

There is quite a lot of good information on this here, including quotes, references and links. Much of it could be incorporated into the article by whoever is interested in doing so. Dovi 11:08, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's in the second line. I added it yesterday, after seeing S's exposition. —Dfass 20:06, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Somehow I had always assumed that his conversion wasn't about religion at all, but just a way to advance his career in a professional/academic climate that was very unwelcoming to Jews and thus hindered their advancement. Well, if he actually became a missionary, then it looks like my assumption was totally wrong. Toddcs (talk) 20:24, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

Presumably he took the name "Christian" on conversion. Has anyone seen sources to that effect? Oncenawhile (talk) 19:21, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
