Einstein Medal ?[edit]

I could not find any credible source about the list of UNESCO's Einstein Medal recipients. Apparently it is not this Albert Einstein Medal as the previous edit stated.--B.F.Pinkerton 17:50, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I checked the UNESCO webpage a bit further, and there is a document referenced as 154 EX/INF.5 dated PARIS, 23 March 1998, which lists all prizes and winners under UNESCO, and there is neither an Einstein Medal nor a mention of HRH Princess Chulabhorn. However there is a press piece of the UNESCO Director General presenting an Einstein Medal in 2006. But that does not match with the Einstein's Society's medal either. Very mysterious. This is a medal created expressly for Chulabhorn. Apparently the royal family had inserted her name to be considered for the Nobel, only to be denied. See Paul Handley 2006. Huanohk (talk) 03:39, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

– The princess's names are just "Chulabhorn" and "Ubol Ratana". They are officially styled in English as "HRH Princess Chulabhorn" and "Princess Ubol Ratana".[1] The rest are parts of their ceremonial names ("Chulabhorn Walailak Akra Rajakumari" and "Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi"), which are not officially used in English. (Note: Walailak should actually be spelled "Valayalaksana", as Sanskrit-based transliteration is preferred for royal names, but even the government isn't consistent here.)
