Buprenorphine

[edit]

Does anybody know how similar or dissimilar this drug is to buprenorphine? As they are both mixed agonist-antagonists at the mu receptor, and both have dose ceilings, they seem quite simiilar. Should this simiilarity perhaps be mentioned on the page? Spiral5800 (talk) 14:31, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The diethyl, piperidine & morpholine analogues are all seen on Chemspider. All appear to be mixed agonist/antagonists but it means that the N-substituents have been studied.

I also saw a p-Cl in place of the m-phenolic group in Reaxys but couldn't get the paper. In all cases, too expensive & complex to be produced in commercial volumes. 3 Chiral centers! This one MIGHT be a pure agonist.
