Merger/notability[edit]

@Anand.abhishek73: Kindly go through WP:N, and WP:GNG. —usernamekiran(talk) 11:11, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Usernamekiran: Going through the guidelines under WP:N, and WP:GNG do not warrant any action to the page. Moreover WP:WPSCH/AG#N seems like the appropriate guideline for schools, where it is quite clearly mentioned that secondary-schools are usually notable, unless their existence cannot be verified. The school in talk here is well verified in the citations itself. As far as notability is concerned, with an enrollment of 2000+ students and being among the top big schools in the district of Meerut, notability is least of the concerns. There are far more schools of similar status having their article; that can be seen under Category:Schools in Meerut. Anand.abhishek73 (talk) 10:27, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Anand.abhishek73: The page you are referring to is not a guideline. It is an essay written by one or multiple editors about the guideline.
I am aware the school has online presence. But it is not enough to have an independent article. It fails WP:GNG. But as the existence of that school can be verified, it should be merged in list of education institutes in Meerut. Unless, the school has notable alumni, or has done something notable. —usernamekiran(talk) 12:05, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
WP:WPSCHOOLS is the authoritative wiki project for schools. Even WP:WPSCH/AG#N not being a standard wiki guideline page, it is the standard go-to-guideline page for the category Wikipedia:Schools (as may be seen here or here). Nowhere is mentioned that "notable alumni, or has done something notable" are criterion for creating articles on school. The pursuit for your above-said claim led me to explore a number of articles in various category of schools, only to discover that almost all of the articles are deemed to be merged/deleted as per your criterion. I hate to say this, but I personally find it hard to digest the bold claims made by you, unless backed-up. It's only a matter of time when some alumnus or staff lists herself/himself or achievements on the page. For that to happen, separate existence of page is of-course needed.
I acknowledge @Usernamekiran:'s sincere efforts in curating and reviewing this page, as it has really helped raising the quality of this article since this talk began. I value your time, effort and experienced guidance here. Let's make it even better. Anticipating a positive reply. - Anand.abhishek73 (talk) 07:14, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I might have been a little too "high standard" lately, i need to work on that. And i think this article will improve automatically over the time. —usernamekiran(talk) 12:23, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
