Untitled[edit]

The Coert Van Voorhees page is of historical significance, not only is he the son of Steven Van Voorhees the first Voorhees to come to America but he was the previous land owner to the home where the Henrick I. Lott house now stands. The entire Voorhees family was instrumental in the progression of the town of Flatlands, New York. He also served as captain of the militia and deacon of the church. I believe this page should remain on Wikipedia. Thank You. MattVoorhees15 (talk) 01:21, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:GNG and WP:BIO. Wikipedia is not a genealogy site or a listing of people - you must prove that the person had some lasting significance. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 01:22, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Regardless that I am his descendant he served a role in the founding and base of the town and Dutch Reformed Church, I have two notable sources- there are plenty of pages on Wikipedia of persons without lasting significance- yet Coert Van Voorhees did for without him selling his land the Hendrick I. Lott house would not exist today. MattVoorhees15 (talk) 01:31, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
