Dave Williams[edit]

Please do not delete or redirect this page as Dave has already appeared in several episodes, Neal McDonough is credited as a star this season, he has gained much notability and his history is detailed in the page. - Renaboss (talk) 14:32, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I propose to merge this because the entire article is overdetailed plot re-tell, with no real-world content proving the notability of the subject outside Desperate Housewives. --LoЯd ۞pεth 20:00, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes of course. I agree. -- Magioladitis (talk) 20:28, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think it should be kept. The character was a regular for a season, and was essentially the major plot. I think a rewrite would be more appropriate. And I dont see how any character can be particularly notable outside a tv show anyway? But seriously, I think the page should stay - Betty Applewhite has a page, and she is essentially has the same role in the show as Dave does. Do you know Mickey Mouse? This is a good example of a character known outside the book/film/show it appears. -- Magioladitis (talk) 23:13, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Characters can clearly be notable outside their media. Magioladitis has provided an excellent example. In your own words, if Dave Willaims cannot be particularly notable outside the tv show, then he does not deserve his own article per Wikipedia policies. If your argument is "Betty Applewhite had essentially the same role", then I must inform you that she is proposed for merging too. A rewrite to improve this article would result in a major shortening, thus making it even more suitable for a merger. --LoЯd ۞pεth 03:45, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As the article showed no improvement by adding real world content and proving the notability of this secondary character, then it was merged. --LoЯd ۞pεth 05:02, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I retrieved the article with real world content: development and reception. I will add more stuff in the future, but right now I'll be working in fixing links. --LoЯd ۞pεth 19:52, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
