How does PIRATE determine range to an aircraft it detects?[edit]

How does PIRATE determine range to an aircraft it detects? Does it have a laser rangefinder? 2.25.65.59 (talk) 17:01, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Replace Footnote 15[edit]

Footnote 15 links to the current Oesia Grupo website article for the PIRATE system. This no longer gives the 74 kilometre figure for which it was cited. However, an archived snapshot of that website from 2016 does. I'm not too familiar with citing conventions, so could someone please replace footnote 15 with this link: http://web.archive.org/web/20161028005533/https://grupooesia.com/en/portfolio-productos-ingenieria/flir-irst/

Note that PIRATE was developed by a consortium of companies from several nations, and the Spanish contribution was by Tecnobit, owned by Oesia Grupo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zhanjack822 (talkcontribs) 00:15, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
