Narrative sequence; robot or not[edit]

I don't have access to the original, but in the abbreviated version in I, Robot put out be Oxford University Press, but in that version, Dr. Calvin is telling the story and at the end already says that Byerley became the first World Governor. (This is different from what our text now says.)

Also, at one point, Byerley addresses his "teacher" as "John." This is not for public consumption, since they are speaking while alone. This exchange can be used to argue that Byerley is not a robot (android) since Quinn had argued that the teacher was in fact (named) Byerley, but it can be argued that it indicates Byerley is in fact a robot, since creating a second robot is what "John" was probably doing. 211.225.33.104 (talk) 02:36, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
