Czechoslovakia? What decade was this article written... --81.236.13.188 20:23, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note that it's "place of birth". Certainly both players were born before 1993, and so in Czechoslovakia. -- Jao 20:29, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gaborik and Comrie?

[edit]

I'm looking over the SEL team pages and I can't really understand why Gaborik and Comrie are on the notable players section. Did any of them play more then 15 games for the team during the lockout? Having BÅG and Loob there is understandable, but imo lock out players shouldn't be there. Neither should the entire roster for the 05/06 gold winning team. --Krm500 23:11, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong name for the team...

[edit]

This page says the name of the team is "Färjestads BK", the actual name is "Färjestad BK". A small but important difference. Yes, their website address uses the extra "s", but only because someone else registered the real name before them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.113.252.198 (talk) 16:59, 13 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

No, their official name is Färjestads BK. --Krm500 17:44, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This can maybe be a bit confusing in English... --Bamsefar75 10:37, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They really are called Färjestad BK

[edit]

It doesn't matter that you see the wrong name all over the place. A mistake made millions of times by thousands of people is still a mistake. They are Färjestad BK, it's not difficult to find out. You can call them up and ask.

If you want proof on the web their site says "farjestadsbk.se officiell hemsida för Färjestad BK". The new press release announcing Håkan Loob for new head of the club says "Färjestad BK" six times.

They have always been called Färjestad BK. Have you even tried saying "Färjestads BK" with a Karlstad accent? It sounds silly.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.113.252.198 (talkcontribs)

No, they are not. They are officially namned Färjestads BK. --Krm500 22:47, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Results from The Google test as stated on WP:NCON gave me the following results today:
  • "Farjestad BK" 1,240 pages
  • "Färjestad BK" 1,370 pages
  • "Farjestads BK" 9,720 pages
  • "Färjestads BK" 5,710 pages
This is a strong majority for using the trailing s. And, yes, it does matter which version is the most used, according to the Wikipedia Naming conventions policy. --Bamsefar75 (talk) 11:08, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If it helps the little packet you get when you buy tickets has a picture of the stadium and "Färjestad BK | Löfbergs Lila Arena | Karlstad" written at the bottom. While the website may include the s, merchandise sold from their shop uniformly omits it.
However the article on Färjestads BK on the svenska wiki adds the s without any apparent discussion.
For now following the swedish page (http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C3%A4rjestads_BK) may just be the best bet. It appears the club is quite happy to use both so could we create a page for Färjestad BK and just route straight to Färjestads BK?

Jörgen Jönsson 21

[edit]

Is Jörgen Jönsson's number (21) retired now or just honored? The jersey number list on the team website is not updated yet. A video of the ceremony was published yesterday by Elitserien from December 26. --Bamsefar75 (talk) 12:58, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
