Untitled[edit]

Has anyone else noticed the strangely common occurance of Missouri flags being flown upside down? Close to 1/3 of the times I see it, even sometimes on government buildings, it's hoisted blue-white-red, with bears standing on their heads. Xyzzyva 18:10, July 30, 2005 (UTC)

I've reverted this article due to content that doesn't address the article topic, is plagiarism and copyright infringement. Here's what I wrote on the editor's talk page:

I noticed that you recently added a large chunk of text to the Flag of Missouri article about Marie Watkins Oliver. There's a couple of issues with the text. Since it discusses Oliver aside from her work with the flag, the information would be better in a separate biography article for Oliver, rather than lumped in with the Flag of Missouri article. The text also does not cite any sources (see Wikipedia:Citing sources) and is copied entirely from a biography published by The State Historical Society of Missouri (http://shs.umsystem.edu/historicmissourians/name/o/oliver/index.html). Because of the lack of attribution, your inclusion of the text is considered Wikipedia:Plagiarism as well as Wikipedia:Copyright violations, both of which are against Wikipedia's guidelines. In the future, please avoid both plagiarism and copyright infringement.

I've reverted the Flag of Missouri article to its previous edit. I think a biography on Marie Watkins Oliver would be great, but please add it as a separate article, be sure to cite your sources and avoid copying text directly.
