Untitled[edit]

This article is semi-literate. It is of questionable accuracy.

And should be shifted to Ford XY Falcon GT. --Falcadore (talk) 06:00, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Surely the GTHO Phase III article should be merged into this as the GTHO was the 'Handling Options' upgrade of the GT? --Falcadore (talk) 04:15, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the GTHO Phase III has a distinct place om Australian cultural history. The regular GT is secondary. Mickeydoubleu (talk) 14:21, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose

While I'd be the first to agree that both articles could do with a lot of cleaning up to give it a more encyclopedic, less 'fan-site' style, I'd disagree with merging them.

The Phase III was, depending on which sources you read, was the fastest four door car in the world (in terms of top speed) which gives it a notability beyond and distinct from the XY GT Falcon it's based on. It deserves an article in its own right.

Add to this the fact that other car models have separate articles for special variants. Consider the articles for Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3 or Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9, which are separate from the respective Mercedes-Benz W108 and Mercedes Benz W116 articles. - Zzrbiker (talk) 00:20, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On further consideration, I'd even suggest merging the XY GT article back into the XY Falcon article, given how little focus it has on the non-Phase III variant. -Zzrbiker (talk) 01:00, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ford XY Falcon GT to Ford Falcon (XY) GT[edit]

As per Talk:Holden Commodore (VF), this page should be moved to fall in line with the changes in designation. I did relocate it, but edit was reverted.Space alligator (talk) 11:12, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Windsor motor[edit]

I didn't think the 351 Windsor was fitted to the XY GTHO Phase 3. I thought the Windsor went into the XW GTHO Phase 1. The XW GTHO Phase 2 and XY GTHO Phase 3 had the 351 Cleveland.

Also, the cubic centimetre capacity on this page for the Windsor is clearly wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.6.175.49 (talk) 06:28, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
